High-Sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP)
The same protein as a standard CRP, measured at concentrations low enough to see the background inflammation that sits below acute illness.
High-Sensitivity CRP in the Biomarker Guide — what it is, why it is tested, and what moves the number.
Add-on markers can only be added to venous samples.
Timing
No fasting needed and no particular time of day. Recent illness and hard training both raise CRP for several days. Leave a clear week after either if you want a number that reflects your baseline rather than the week you have just had.
Turnaround: the lab reports this test within 24 hours of receiving your sample, counted in working days. Most samples reach them within about 3 days of posting. Full detail on our Turnaround Times page.
